Prior to Real Estate, Dawn ran her own computer training and courseware development company for 20+ years, and prior to that, she worked for Apple Computer in Cupertino, CA as International Product Manager for the Apple IIe. She even had the pleasure of sitting next to Steve Jobs at a company event!
In her childhood, Dawn’s father worked for NATO in Public Relations, and they lived in Germany (3 yrs) and France (2 yrs). Dawn also lived and worked in Japan for 8 years as a young adult and speaks Japanese. She has an undergraduate degree in East Asian Studies (1975), and a Master of International Management degree from the American Graduate School of International Management in Phoenix, AZ (1980).
Dawn’s favorite sports are skiing, golf, and tennis, and her favorite pastime is international travel. She and her husband, Milt Herd, have made three trips to New Zealand in the past 10 years and continue to travel there every few years to take photos for Dawn’s annual calendar gift to her clients. Like Northern Virginia, New Zealand is an incredibly beautiful and energetic place, with fine dining, educated residents, and lots of fun things to do.
